I recently bought a 1974 Montauk that has a front platform, which is not installed, but which I want to install. It seems there are several mounting boards missing and I am trying to find information on how these platforms attach to the inner hull and the proper type and location of board. Any help would be appreciated.

Look up about 5 inches to the right, there will be a box with the words new topic in it. Just under that is the search section. Click that and key in front platform.

Also you can enter casting platform. Good luck.

On my 74 Montauk II there were:
2 long "cleats" (aprox 1-1/2" square? X 4' long) that sat on the small inner shelf of the hull, attached with screws horizontily, two short pieces of the same size screwed to each side of the console, 2 short pieces screwed to the front of the console close to the outside corners, and one piece accross the front directly behind the front locker. Unfortunatly, I owned this boat before the advent of digital cameras, so I don't have photos.
I know where the boat is, and will see if I can take some measurements (and photos) for ya.

Pete,

That's exactly what I was looking for, I did search the site but haven't come up with a better description than what you have provided so far, thank you. I am assuming these boards were teak....?

The side "cleats" are 1-1/8" tall and 1-1/4" wide They are not teak (they are currently painted white).
The console pieces are teak, and are thru-bolted to the console.
Hope this helps,
Pete
