The presents have been opened, the relatives have gone home but there are still a few days left before I have to go back to work. I started in on my 13’ 1973 Whaler renovation today. I have several questions and will post them separately for clarity. I am going to try to wet sand and polish the interior (and live with the stress cracks which are ugly, but not too prominent). I will be using the boat for crabbing and general hard-use: Dog claws, kids, sand and so on. I am concerned painting the interior would look better but will not be a tough enough solution. I will be worried about scratching my new paint job. It seems that paint can never be as tough as gel coat. Is that a reasonable statement? Thanks, Bob
