Just need [a retail source to purchase] the [lamp] socket [portion of the combined sidelight navigation lamp used on a 1971 Boston Whaler SAKONNET model].

Information about sources of replacement parts for classic Boston Whaler boat is collected and organized in

There is information in that article about the navigation lamp fixtures:

http://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/OEM.html#nav

Most of the lamp fixtures use a common bayonet bulb base. These types of lamps were still in common use in automobiles until recently. You might find that visit to an auto parts store that has a nice display of replacement parts for tail lamps might produce an inexpensive bayonet bulb base socket that could be adapted. Or, a visit to a boat chandlery that has a nice collection of old navigation lamps may produce what you need. You could also look for a vendor on-line by searching for

and selecting something that could be adapted to your lamp.

This hit from the search looks promising:

The bow light of a 1971 Sakonnet used a very small bulb. In doing some restoration work on a couple of these old bow lights, I found an electrical vendor who offered a very similar socket. I bought a bag of these sockets.

If you need one, email your address and I'll mail you one.

This is what I have:

You need to straighten the mounting tab form its 90 bend position, but other than that, it is identical to the original.

A plastic sleeve should be slid over the socket to insulate it from the cast base of the light fixture.

I have two of these old bow lights that I had re-chromed. I have one original socket that is shot but am using it as an example.

I think the sockets I have will work perfectly. They used to produce the same part without the mounting tab being bent 90 degrees, but I have not been able to find them anywhere.

I just got back from the hardware store where I bought a foot of plastic "milky white" thin wall tubing for 29 cents. A 3/4" length of this fits over the socket quite nicely and serves as an insulator much like the original socket had.
