recently got a 175 hp suzuki four stroke for my whaler, but can't seem to figure out how to remove side panel to change oil filter. Removed all visible screws but still can't remove panel and don't want to break something. I must be missing something easy! Any help appreciated.

Can you download a Zuki manual online?

Because changing the oil is a required procedure when operating the engine, I would think that the owner's manual would provide details. Usually the owner's manual gives the owner information about the outboard engine that is needed to operate and maintain it. In the case of a four-stroke-cycle outboard engine, removal of the used oil and replacement with fresh lubricating oil should be explained in the owner's manual because such a procedure would seem to be a standard part of operating the engine.

If you do not have the owner's manual, you should get a copy. The owner's manual for an outboard will typically explain in detail many facets of operating the engine. While some may think they know everything about outboards, each manufacturer is sufficiently unique in their procedures that a careful reading of the owner's manual will be informative to even the most experienced boat owner.
