I want to change out the gasket under the steering wheel for my hydraulic steering on my 1991 17 foot outrage. I got the large stainless nut off but can't seem to figure out how to actually remove the wheel. Do I need a puller? Does it screw off? I don't want to damage the helm by forcing it. can some on tell me the proper procedure? Thanks, Johnny Rotten

The puller is the way to go, however sometimes you can pry it off with two large screw drivers under the steering wheel and have someone hit the center were the wheel bolts on. Leave the nut on flush with the top of the threads so not to damage the threads. (shoot the area with a lubericate as well)good luck
