[Moved to REPAIRS][To a Boston Whaler 9-foot TENDER boat,] I added the console and tried using classic cables, but [there was] not much room on transom for correct mounting pulleys [needed to install remote steering]. [I] need to know a brand and a length of [remote outboard engine] controls. Has remote steering and engine control ever been installed in a 9-foot TENDER?

I think you're not getting any positive answers because the 9-foot Tender is not really suited to what you are doing. In my humble experience (as a former ownmer of one) it's not suited for much other than using as a planter in the front lawn for flowers. Sorry to offer this, but it's the truth: Boston Whaler. didn't make too many bad boats, but this is one of them. Dave

I am sorry to disagree with you. I've had many Boston Whaler boats, and always kept my 9-foot tender. It is just right for myself and my grandson to fish. [Changed topic to discuss what brand of cars are driven by owners of 9-foot Boston Whaler TENDER boats.] |

I agree with squallman: I love the 9-foot Boston Whaler TENDER. They are great boats and in very high demand. Speaking of [what kind of car is driven by the owner of 9-foot Boston Whaler TENDER boats] I was at a Boston Whaler dealer once and the owner of the dealership was driving a [a particular brand of car]. The emblem in the center of the car's wheels always stayed upright. How cool is that! |

Please use REPAIRS/MODS for the the topic of adding remote steering and remote engine controls to models of Boston Whaler boats that did not originally have those features. |

Thanks to frontier. [Boston Whaler boats] are my passion, also. Built so well, they last forever. I'm 68 and [the TENDER 9] is really easy to handle, also. With a 4.5-HP [Johnson outboard engine], [a TENDER 9] goes OK. |

[Please contact the owner of the TENDER 9 via email to discuss the brand of car most likely to be driven by the owner of a TENDER 9 and which particular model. Thanks--jimh] |

If we could, let's get back to boating. Thanks. I am not sure what inference can be made about a Boston Whaler boat based on the car driven by its owner. |
