macdougall70	posted 03-26-2014 03:53 PM ET (US)         Mounted trim on my Conquest 21 and they interfere with the swim ladder in the back. Anyone have this issue? The ladder presses against the port trim a lot. I was thinking about mounting some starboard extension pieces between the top of the ladder and the transom to force the ladder out and away from the tabs. Any suggestions?

Mambo Minnow	posted 03-27-2014 08:41 PM ET (US)             My factory installed Bennett tabs do not touch the ladder, even when extended. I always worry however that guests boarding will step on the tab instead of the ladder tread underwater.
ruest	posted 03-27-2014 09:24 PM ET (US)             Same with my aftermarket Lenco's. They are close but do not touch, however the ladder step height makes it real easy to step on the tab instead of the tread.
macdougall70	posted 03-28-2014 09:17 AM ET (US)             I read some a post here about trim tabs on the 21 and 12x12 was suggested to have better performance, which I'm sure it does. However, I did not measure the clearance from the ladder before I ordered them. Whoops.. Cant believe I was that stupid. After they were installed I folded the ladder down and well, Houston we have a problem. I did opt for the Lenco tabs. I think I may have a fix.. Thanks for the replies
Dave Fahy	posted 03-28-2014 11:25 AM ET (US)             Most of the recommendations I have seen say 9x12 as it allows for the ladder to have room. Can you put some form of a hard foam strip where the ladder touched the gelcoat, as long as that doesn't stress the hinge. If you have the tabs all the way up is there room. I am about to install the 9x12 lenco's on my Conquest.
macdougall70	posted 03-28-2014 02:25 PM ET (US)             I will have to figure out a fix at this point. 9x12 would have been ok I believe, although the front of the foot on the second step will probably be stepping on the tab anyways. 12x12 was just a bad call on my part. I think some starboard spacers to hold the ladder out a few inches should work.
