The corners of the ends of the red tape trim running along the sides of the hull just below the rub rail on my 2009 190 Montauk are starting to peel. I would like to stop this from becoming worse.
I remember a recommendation to use clear nail polish as an adhesive but I'm in doubt it will do the job and it could damage the tape ends.
What do you recommend?

I would cut it where it stops peeling to stop it coming off any further.
OR, I would take it all out and replace with a new trim.
Also, you could clean the piece that has peeled off and add a very thin film of adhesive that you have on hand, like Life Caulk.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I've been tempted to use a razor blade to cut a line about 1/2 inch from the end and to remove the bad ends. I doubt it would be noticeable and it would be easy. My only concern is that in a couple of years the problem would reappear.
