The [1984 Boston Whaler OUTRAGE 18 boat shown in the images found at the URL below] is 30-years old and I believe it will last another 30-years.

Nice work, I'm doing the same thing except on Guardian 18. What did you use to foam in new tank? One image shows an open area inside edge outside the floor and deck area. On this open area, my floor doesn't come up there. I would have to cut it open. Explain what you did there and the gray-looking things shown in the foam there.
I take it you got your new tank from FMT? Is that one of the $700 ones? I'm asking because I'll be buying a new tank too. Mine has heavy pitting in a few spot on the top, and while my deck is out. Thanks.

I got the tank from FMT, and, yes, it was $700. I cut those sections out because I needed to access the foam in there that was wet. I cut it open and let it sit in a heated building for eight months. Those gray things are stringers that come up through the hull, if I think I am explaining what you are asking correctly. I used a two-part foam 6-lbs density. I read all the article about not foaming in the tank.

The "gray looking things" are most likely links between the outer hull and the inner hull and are called shear braces. The Boston Whaler Unibond hull has always used them. Read the REFERENCE section on the hull construction patent to learn more. See
