Hi All, I'm looking for some good information in terms of where I can buy a seemingly obscure replacement piece for my whaler. I'm looking for the white plastic piece that connects the stainless steel upright part to the backrest to the actual pilot seat. It's a small white plastic piece that inserts into the upright and is connected to the pilot seat with one single bolt. Other than buying an entire new RPS, I can't find this part ANYWHERE. My backup option is to fabricate a replacement out of starboard plastic, but I have never worked with this before and am afraid it will be noticeable.

Any help of info is greatly appreciated. Thanks ahead of time .

Cheers,

Matt -- Contact a good Whaler dealer. I recommend Sue Lodel, the Parts Manager at Twin Cities Marine:

You may have to buy the entire seat back frame. See the exploded parts diagram for your RPS:

Tom, Thanks for the contact info - the dealer that I called Hmm'd and Haww'd to no avail. I was trying to avoid buying the entire seat back. I think I'll fabricate something before I do that - but we'll see how well it comes out. I'm not a fan of non-stock looking parts/repairs.

BTW - Thanks for all your responses to my posts, Tom. I'm excited to try out my prop (on your recommendation). Cheers!

Talk to Sue before you do anything. She is considerably more knowledgable and resourceful than most Boston Whaler Parts Managers.

If that part can be bought, Sue will find it. She is really very good at finding parts.
