Bought a '95 Rage 15. I know that a large majority of the owners hate the Rage and want to convert it to an outboard. It seems to be a red-headed step child for the BW guys. That being said, I always wanted to play with one. Had the boat shipped (I'm in the Caribbean). Arrived not running, as per the previous owner's description. Pretty clean, overall but the #2 piston grenaded thus giving 20PSI is said cylinder. 1 month later got my parts. New pistons, rings, bearings, (cleaned up the cylinder with a hone) 110PSI in all 4 now. Rebuilt carbs (new needle, seat, etc). Previous owner converted to premix and installed an electric fuel pump. Everything looks 100% but the Rage is impossible to start and when it fires (after fooling with the electric choke and WOT) only runs at 3500RPM and above (more or less because my tach & volt gauge are not functioning). As soon as I let off the throttle it just dies. It sounds to me like a fuel supply issue or could be something funky like a faulty timer base or power pack. Don't know the entire history of the boat, so I'm a bit perplexed. Electric fuel pump should be supplying adequate pressure, the carbs have fuel in the bowls every time I've pulled them to check and recheck. Have good compression. Have spark on all 4. Has to be something silly that I can't get me head around. Any help would be appreciated, guys. Secondary issue is that I have a milkshake like fluid in my jet gear oil. Must be a bad seal. I e-mailed Lisa at Turbojetproducts to see if she knows which seal(s) need to be replaced. I'm guessing it has to be an impeller shaft seal, but trying to find out if there is more than one and what it takes to change it. Parts are a B**ch to get here. I have zero experience with these old OMC's (for a good reason). Have 3 outboard Yami's and a fleet of late model Waverunners. Wish I could stuff a 150 4 stroke Yami in this thing and call it a day.
