Person who sold me my 16.7 had filled the hole for the boy eye on the hull side but left the hold inside the bow locker. I am going to reinstall the bow eye for trailering and general purpose. Question; does the triangular side with tits cast into it go inside locker or against the hull? Mine also came with a curved washer that matches the hull shape. I am assuming I will add Stainless washers to the inside of the locker against the boat to backplate.

Does the triangle side go outside or inside; rounded end outside or in?

Seems like it should match what they did with my stern eyes but just want to make sure.

The d shape goes on the outside with the point facing up. I have two screw shackels through the d ring, one is the front hold down which has a turnbuckel to the trailer at a 90 degree angle to the boat, the other is for the winch hook. I use the inside ring for the end of my anchor line...

Thank you Richard. The hole was still there in the locker but the previous owner patched over the hole on the outside hull. I drilled it last night and found a pretty chitty patch job as matter of fact the patch fell out as I drilled and revealed a 1" x 1.5" hold around the opening. Ugh. I will talk with the fiberglass store I have been dealing with. They have been terrific. The bow eye is 1/2" so I will be asking if a patch of epoxy will work or if epoxy fill and resin is needed. I want to do it right and only once so probably leaning toward filler and resin sheet with matt etc..

Rick, I have a few fiberglass repairs to make on my own 16.7 Montauk and could use a little handholding. What fiberglass store are you using? Thanks. Glen

gpj. Not sure where you are located but I also have the same store in St Petersburg, FL over here called Fiberglass Coatings. I didn't realize they were a franchise if they are also on the East Coast per Richard's reply.

If in St Pete; guy named Mark has been extremely helpful to me. He has himself restored Whalers also. I walk in totally amatuer and they have me walking out with exactly what products are needed and with instructions how to go about using them. I also bought my Dewalt 5" orbital sander there, circular grit pats of 60, 80. I will say though that Home Depot has them cheaper about $5 per 50. I didn't mind spending the money there for the few items as they have been so helpful.
