So, last year, on my new to me 15, I mount a new Moeller 9 gallon tank.
All is good until the hit weather comes around. Now after a short time in the sun my tank looks like a balloon. I know if I kept my vent on the cap closed on my old Tempos, it would do the same.
Check the vents. They seem open. I discover the new EPA vents allow air in, but not out.
I'm wondering what all this pressure is doing down the line into the engine. Will the pressure push gas past the bulb and into the engine?
What is it doing to the o-rings on the gas line fittings?
What is it doing to the tank when it pressurized and expands, looking like a balloon?
Not waiting to find out any answers, I changed the cap to a "pre-2011" cap that vents both ways. Problem solved.
Get a "pre 2011" cap before they are banned. The guy at Wedt Narine didn't think they were supposed to be on the shelves anymore.
