Just checking to see if anyone used Keel Guard on a 15 foot boston whaler classic? I'm looking at it and haven't used it.

I must be on my 10th season with a KeelGuard on a 1983 Sport 15 with no issues.

I have a Keelguard (Megaware I think) on my classic Sport 15. It was already in place when I bought the boat. It does a great job of protecting the keel of the hull, as well as allowing me to beach the boat on the ramp momentarily when launching and retrieving by myself. I did have the problem of it trying to come loose right where it rests on the front roller, but fixed that with some 5200 to tack it down.

However: I recommend you consider a Hamby's Original brand. It isn't cheap at around $450 bucks, dealer installed, but is guaranteed for life and will never come loose if installed by a Hamby's dealer. Don't opt for the Hamby's do it yourself model, it's not the same.

I've had the Hamby's on a couple boats in the past I think a nice Whaler deserves the best. If mine ever comes loose again, I will replace it with a Hamby's.

I installed Keel Guard on my 1986 15SS about 3 years ago and like think the added protection when beaching boat and look is good. I have had no delamination issues at all. Follow the installation directions carefully and per the instructions make sure your bow roller does not come in continuous contact with the Keel Guard once fully loaded on the trailer. I had to lower the bow roller about 1/4".
