It was purchased from Houston, Texas and had been kept indoors most of its life. The wiring was terrible, the twin engines were shot, but the hull was dry and sound.

I spend the winter months in Chicago/Wisconsin refitting the boat. I replaced pretty much everything. Every single wire, piece of teak, cushion, electronics, engine, steering, etc. The fuel tank was sound (luckily) but we did replace all hoses.

The majority of the work was actually undertaken by Matt Oglesby at Jerry's Majestic Marine on Lake Geneva, WI. They did a spectacular job. Especially their glass and gel-coat work - www.jerrysmajestic.com - this is the second classic Whaler that Matt has worked on for me. Jerry's is developing a real passion and gift for bring these classic boats into the modern age while not leaving behind the style that makes us all love these boats.

All teak is new and was done by Mike Stennett with Nautical Lumber in Michigan. He takes his time (6+ months) but the finished product is unmatched.

I have attached a photobucket album that shows, first, pics from this weekend when she was being brought off a mooring after launch. After that, are a progression of pictures showing her from the date of purchase through the refitting to when she was pulled out of the shop in early May.

I'm extremely pleased with the finished product. Given that she will be used less than three months a year, this boat should last me a very long time. The new Honda BF250 is exceptional. We are remounting it this week, moving it two holes up from its current position per advice on this site.
