I just brought home my new-to-me engineless 210 Ventura. I have an engine coming for it, but figured I would get ahead of the game by cleaning up the bilge, draining the fuel tank, etc, prior to mounting the engine.
So I have my head stuck in this 9" by 13" hatch in the transom deck cleaning out 14 years worth of grease, grime, and gunk, using about five gallons of Purple Power and Dawn, trying to find the gelcoat, and just learning where everything is. Then I realized that the fuel-water separator is mounted within this bilge space, basically just below the transom hatch. Right now it is just the top fixture, with the filter and bottom bowl still out. However, realizing how difficult these filters are to change once they have been installed for a few months, I got to thinking: with the engine installed, how would I EVER get there to swap out filters in the future?
So my question to you 210 Ventura and Conquest owners is this: Is this where the factory mounted the fuel-water separator, or was this a dealer-installed option? I just wonder, with an outboard mounted, is there actually room to gain access to this filter? I really don't see any other good place to mount this, so what do you guys do?

I purchased my 98 BW 21' Conquest used, therefore I don't know whether the fuel-water separator was factory installed or not.
I have easy access to mine and it is easily changed. It is located on the starboard side just below the cup-holder and to the left of the stainless steel bolt and washer that you see in the attached picture. I hope this helps.

Do not forget to look at the bilge pump and float switch before the engine install. Much easier now as with the other things you are doing in that compartment space.

Ace, this model did not come with an OEM installed Racor filter. Only the one on engine under the cowl. Must be an aftermarket install.
I have bought a Racor for dealing with ethanol in Northeast, but I did not have to worry about that in FL.
