Which of the following rubrails is the correct one for a 15 footer 1986. I believe the right size is 1 1/2" x 5/8". but their seems to be a few of that size to choose from.

Rich--In the REFERENCE section article on Rub Rails

which is mentioned in and linked from the FAQ (see hyperlink above in the forum page header), the style of rub rail used on Boston Whaler boats is described as the "R1078" style. You append more Barbour part numbers to pick the color, with choices of Black, White, or Moonstone, and a pre-cut length.
The flexible vinyl insert is sold in Black and is listed on the webpage you have mentioned (and is also given in the Rub Rail article), after the several 1078-style rigid rub rails.
Elsewhere on the Barbour website they describe their color "Moonstone" as being equivalent to "Desert Tan." For example, see

Thanks for the info jimh, I ordered an OEM 3 piece rubrail from Sue at Twin Cities Marine this afternoon. I bought the rubrail for my 13 footer from them back in '08, and they were good people to deal with. I also ordered a 12 oz. spray can of De-bond Marine Formula adhesive remover from Merritt Marine supply, to help me in removing the 5200 from under the Taco rubrail I installed on Saturday and removed on Sunday. That rubrail did nothing for the looks of the boat, and cost the same as the Whaler rubrail.
