So I have a 2003 dauntless 220 I love the boat. I just recently purchased the minn kota riptide st 80 with pilot with the quick connect mount, along with two Duracell 31DTMAGM batteries. The boat has the fishing package on it. I will hopefully be updating the wiring from 8g to 6g. I really do not want to, but the length to the front it over 5 feet. Just hope I can remove the old ones and then be able to put the new ones in. Nothing I have done on this boat has been as planned its always been hard to do anything. Anyways, I was trying to layout where to put the motor and all on the bow and bam! first issue, the bow on this boat is not the best for a trolling motor. The rub rail sticks out too far and will not allow me to deploy the motor without hitting it and or not allowing me to do it at all. Now i can get it to work, but the wife will not like having a motor in the front taking up the room of the bow. I cannot mount with what I have currently to allow me to store the motor on the left of the bow. Oh I do not have a bow rail btw. So what I need now is some sort of mount that I can take off that will allow me to slide the motor forward when I need to drop it and slide it back when I want to store it. I am sure other dauntless owners have had this same issue, I did a search on a bunch of sites and found one, but the answer was not there. I have searched and searched. Any help would be great. Also is it that big a deal to just keep the 8g wire? thanks
