So he painted the Morse MT-3 control box. Lots of used ones out there and most are corroded. Never considered painting one though. Might be a good idea.

I have two so I tried it. A lot of sanding a little bondo to fill some of the bad pits. If it looks like this for in a couple of years it'll be worth it.

What about just getting it rechromed? Also why the PVC spacer? would not the helm just bolt up to the bezel? That is the way I have done it

No the 4.2 NFB helm and steering does not match the Big-T bezel at all. Four bolts in the Big-T for the Big-T Helm and steer. Only three bolts holes on the NFB helm and no Big-T "neck" I'll call it that spaces the helm from the Big-T. Very confusing but if you have the Big-T bezel the only helm that matches it is the Big-T helm.

Yes, you can get it rechromed but that is expensive and may not last either since once pot metal starts pitting it continues to pit.

Does "yes" mean the spare is for sale?
It is multi function or just throttle

No I'm not selling the other MT-3. I'll do the same I did with the other and keep it as a spare. There have been some on ebay.

Hey Bink , I have two of the Morse controls in the shop rafters down here on the Alafia you can have. Both are from my 76 Newport and are in rough shape but are good to restore.
