I have been having a few problems starting my 1993 Johnson tracker 40hp. I noticed that sometimes when I prime the bulb, fuel squirts out of the place where the fuel line connects to the engine. If I fiddle with the quick release connector (I detach it and then reattach it and then wiggle it around) then the leak deems to go away and the engine starts right up. Is this common? Is the connector bad?
Thanks!

Yes, it's common. First try replacing the connector on the fuel line. Use an OEM part - the aftermarket ones tend to not last very long.
