1992 E200 TXENE with 750 hours. I think my VRO pump is starting to over oil. My thoughts were to have it replaced, but maybe all it needs is a rebuild. Pre-mixing is my least favorite option. When I spend all the time and gas to get to the fuel dock, I like to float the cap on my fuel tank. With premixing that would be a pain. What are the thoughts in 2014 of rebuilding a 1992 oil pump? Perfectly reasonable to rebuild it, if you can find the repair kit. From a quick look at marineengine.com, I only see the pump itself, not the rebuild kit.If the motor is otherwise running well, even if you have to replace the pump entirely, at $400, it's probably worth it. Tim |

You cannot rebuild an original 1992 VRO pump but you can replace the fuel pump diaphragm if needed. In 1998, they came out with the OMS pump that was universal and rebuildable. It is recognized by the replaceable inlet and outlet fittings that are fastened by Torx screws holding an oval steel retainer plate. To learn more about these VRO-OMS systems, click on: http://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/VRO.html |

Well there's my answer, thanks. My VRO has the brown outlet. When the season ends I will get it replaced and a new filter in the oil reservoir also. Thanks, John |
