My boat was painted inside and out with a very strong paint, likely solvent based, not water based. What can I use to strip it that won't damage fibreglass?

Thanks,

Don

Painted inside and out that will be some removal job. I have seen abrasives sprayed to remove paint on gelcoat. I believe it was crushed walnut shells.

At over 20 years old maybe some surface prep and repainting might be all that is needed to look great again.

Good luck with this

That may turn out to be what I need to do. I was hoping to find something easier for removal of the paint.

Thanks,

Don

There are several paint stripers that will work fine with fiberglass/gel coat with out damaging it. See your marine hardware store.

....that are also applied with brush/roller and are biodegradable.
