CWe's, help! I have a 1994 140 (looper) engine, xlong, that needs a lower unit. (Do not have the original) I've tried to figure out what unit will fit, and I'm going in circles! I've been told that engine came with both a V4 or V6 unit. I'm ok with either. 1994 model year used a 2 piece drive shaft. Will a unit w/ a 1 piece drive shaft work? One shop said the loopers use a slightly longer drive shaft. What shift shaft fits? Another shop said any V4 unit 1991 and up will bolt up. Sorry for all the questions: You OMC guys will be able to set me straight! Thanks

Post your model number, it will help nail down what you have more precisely to those who know what the numbers mean.

I just bought a 1994 140HP on a Whaler, from what I read, this year V4 came with the same lower end as the V6.

Thanks: Model # E140TXARC (originally was a counter rotated gearcase, going to right hand rotation)
