DaveS	posted 10-09-2014 02:29 PM ET (US)         I'm taking my 1999 17' Outrage to the shop to finish replacing the steering system upgrade I started this week. As it turns out, that last step, connecting the steering cable to the engine, I was unable to make. The engine needs to be lifted off the boat and I don't have the tools to do so. My question, my engine is currently mounted at the lowest point. I was thinking about raising it a hole or two. My engine is a 1999(?)-(really long story, one snowy day I'll explain) 150hp Mercury. Not sure of the prop. I'll be taking it over tonight to the shop tonight. Thanks again for the help and have a wonderful day! Dave
jimh	posted 10-09-2014 09:36 PM ET (US)             Certainly have the engine raised to the one-hole-up (from lowest) position. Modern propellers can easily tolerate that sort of mounting height.
