My [remote throttle and shift] cables are shot for my kicker and need to be replaced. Suggest the length of cables needed for a OUTRAGE 19 II with Yamaha T8. The current cables seem awfully long. The previous owner had [the Yamaha T8] professionally installed, but definitely too much cable! The cables seem way long, like 20-feet, which seems [excessive] from the console to the transom. I'll order up some 18-foot-long cables and hope they will be okay.

Thanks for the information about the cables you have ordered. Let us know how they work out.

Received the cables, actually 19' Yamaha premium 2 cables from Boats.net part # MAR-CABLE-19-SC. $50.83 each. I had left a guide rope when the old rusted cables were removed and was able to zip tie and duct tape together the new cables. With the help of my partner we pulled the new cable under the fuel tank and out the starboard side where the rest of the control lines exit for both outboards. I also purchased a Marinetech Pro2 digital throttle controller and installed it using the guide rope. Should be great for dialing in the right trolling speed for our PNW salmon species.

Just got the new impellers installed and fresh lower unit lube done, new plugs tomorrow and she should be ready for a water test thereafter.
