I just had the bow chock and some other hardware from my 1970 16-foot Whaler re-plated at a local shop: New England Chrome Plating of East Hartford, Connecticut. It came out nice, see: http://hemphill.org/whaler/chrome_plating.jpg .
The company was easy to deal with, the work was completed when promised, and the quality appears to be top-notch. Yes, it was expensive, but I think it was worth it.

That IS nice. New chrome plating will definately dress up a classic.

Tom, can you share the pricing?

It was $230 for the lot. They repaired (brazed) a broken stanchion at no charge.
