Author	Topic:   Replacing a jack plate with a boarding ladder
alchse	posted 05-03-2015 09:40 PM ET (US)         I just picked up an 1982 Newport that has a jack plate on it. Any tips or recommendations for replacing this jack plate with a boarding ladder? It is mounted with 2 bolts that go all the way through the transom and hold a tie down winch on the inside. Thanks!
andygere	posted 05-04-2015 11:41 AM ET (US)             Do you mean an auxiliary motor bracket when you say jack plate? Jack plates are normally associated with mounting the main outboard or outboards to the transom as a way of making small adjustments to the mounting height.
