I recently purchased a 1995 Dauntless 13 and want to add a Bimini top. What is the mounting preference: for the frame: on the gunwale or on the rail? [What are the] advantages [and the] disadvantages [of each location]? The boat is incredibly clean and stock. [I am] not sure I like the idea of adding holes. It sounds like folding an dstoring the bimini is easier if I mount directly to the gunwales. I keep the boat on a lift covered so the fitted cover also has to fit. [Give me some] advice.

Also, I have a new Westland Sunbrella cover but no frame. [Give me] suggestions on the best place to purchase just the frame. [Recommend either] stainless or aluminum We are freshwater. Thanks--RJ

For me, [the best place to mount the frame of a Bimini top for a 1995 Boston Whaler DAUNTLESS 13 is on the] gunwale.
