What kind of engine and jet combination does [a Boston Whaler RAGE boat] take? Is it hard to [perform the installation of the engine and jet combination]? What is the performance of this little [Boston Whaler RAGE] with a 100-HP jet drive?

There were are few versions of the Rage series.

The 14-15' Models
The early models had Yamaha Waverunner engines located under the center console. They then moved to a rear mounted OMC 90 or 115HP Turbojet Engine package (which was plagued with problems) - the final version had a Mercury SportJet 175 (the most desirable and best performing package.)

The 18' Model
I believe this was only produced with a Ford V8 engine.

A summary of the production history of the RAGE boats by Boston Whaler is given in

http://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/specifications.html#jets

The information contained in the linked resource above (which has been published for many years in the REFERENCE section of this website) lists the manufacturer, horsepower, and model name of the engine and jet drive used in each of the various RAGE boats by model and model year. The production epoch for each model is also given.

The initial article in this thread asks about the difficulty of performing the installation of the engine and jet drive in a RAGE boat of unspecified model year and length. I suspect that the degree of difficulty of performing the installation of the engine and jet drive may vary with the four to five different types of engine and jet drive that have been used, and it may be difficult to characterize the difficulty of performing the installation of the engine and jet drive in all the various models in a single summation.

It is also difficult to know the performance of an unspecified Boston Whaler RAGE boat with an engine of 100-HP, for two reasons:

--we do not know the length of the boat, and

--there does not appear to be any Boston Whaler RAGE boat which was equipped with a 100-HP engine.
