I've got a 2006 150 Montauk and I wanted to add a Motor Guide iX5 trolling motor to the fore port area of the boat. Unfortunately, it seems like the bow rails will interfere with the operation without some rail modification - not entirely sure of this. I'm not to excited about modifying bow rails.

I'm sure someone out there has successfully mounted a trolling motor in this area and may have some pics to share. Others have suggested mounting the trolling motor to the stern or outboard motor itself.

Would welcome some direction and commentary.

Ok this is ugly but functional. I think my railing is lower than yours. I don't use a trolling motor much but this works fine when I do. I usually don't run with just the block on the railing. I only put it on when I use the trolling motor. I only wish there was a quicker way to bolt on the block. This doesn't take long but I wish it was easier and faster.
