posted 09-21-2015 11:56 AM ET (US)         Hi, I just picked up a 1997 Rage 15 with a re-manufactured Quick-Silver Mercury 175 Sportjet. Over the weekend I pulled the motor and opened it up to find the #6 cylinder wall is cracked, Am I correct to assume the motor is junk? Assuming the motor is toast, I want to convert to an outboard but, I want to notch and reinforce the transom so the motor can be mounted directly to the hull. Has anyone ever tried to do this?
