FYI. Here is a letter I received from Tohatsu regarding their new DFI engines.
Greg,
Thank you for your interest in Tohatsu Outboards. Yes we will be introducing
a 90 hp direct fuel injected model around April or May of 2001. We have not
finalized pricing but I would guess that the increase would be around
$1000.00 to $1500.00. Is it worth the wait, I think so. What you will get
out of the new technology 90 is better fuel economy, better hole shot,
smoother, quieter, less oil consumption, and cleaner burning. It all boils
down to the $$$$$$$$$.

Well about time --- they will be using Orbital Engine Corporation's fuel injection technology similar to the Optimax is what I understand --- Tom
