posted 04-15-2001 11:44 AM ET (US)         I have a 1969 13' that I just converted to a center console with a front casting deck like the new flats boats. It's got a beater, salt coroded 1977 Johnson 35 remote electric that's in need of a new starter and a new wire harness otherwise it runs well. Considering buying a 1989 Evinrude 40hp from a dealer but going to this motor (beautiful freshwater motor) entails a jump from 121 lbs. to 189 lbs. This is a previously waterlogged hull. Stern floats 3" low. Is this jump in weight stupid?...HELP PLEASE.
