misterca	posted 01-14-2002 06:37 PM ET (US)         Was thinking about replacing my 96 90HP 2 stroke Merc with a 60 HP Merc 4 stroke. The 60 HP is about 40 lbs lighter in weight. Anyone have this combo. putting it on a 96 Montauk 17'. Interested in how much power loss I will have and cruising speed. Use the boat mainly for fishing and some diving. Thanks CM
Dick	posted 01-15-2002 11:20 AM ET (US)             I have the Merc 50 4 stk on mine and top out at 33 mph on the GPS and am happy with the combination. The 60 should give you a few more mph.
