Hi, TH.Using the equation: Speed=(square root of HP/WT)X 200.
Where HP=18 and Wt=650 total,
I come up with a theoretical WOT of 33mph.
If I change the weight to 800, total, it changes to about 30mph.
Based on that I would say no, there is more speed available, but at the cost of accelleration.
If you can get a prop dealer to cooperate, try a Tachometer and see what your WOT rpm are and compare that to the engine spec for operating range.
Let us know what you find out.
Just a thought: I am not sure I would want to go faster than 25 in a Mirrocraft 15. How about a Whaler 13?
