I want to mount a trolling on the bow of my 1967 17'Montauk. I've heard of modifications that will allow this. Does any know where to lead me?

Minnkota Maxxum 55 lbs of thrust, or a Minnkota Power Drive, would be pretty good choices for bow mounted motor for your boat. The company has a slide on/off mounting plate that could be screwed into the flat section of the bow (either port or starboard) which makes removal very easy. Hope this helps.

Sorry, I think on the 1967 models, you might have to fasten a piece of plate aluminum across the bow first, to provide a mounting surface.

Hi dogfish, I know I've seen the setup you mentioned, ie alluminum plate mounted to the bow, but i'm trying to track down somebody who has done this and/or pictures of such a modification
