Do any of you use a jackplate on a 13? I just installed mine- runs great. The holeshot almost knocked me back into the engine. I have only ridden in it alone, so I still have some tests to run. I think that with some weight up front, it will run differently. I don't want to raise the engine up too much more. Any suggestions, besides just live with it? Thanks.

I had the rooster tail problem. I also had a problem slowwing down. I had water halfway up my motor case whenever I shut down. I removed the jackplate and raised my motor (Yam 50) as high as it would go on the transom. My performance is still scary without it.

My friend also has jackplate on his 13' (OMC 50). The motor is cranked up pretty far. He throws a rooster tail also. Believe you will just have to live with it.

Note: Both of these are '84 13's with the transom canted out at the top. This makes the offset of the jackplate more severe. Don't know what you are running, but thought I would let you know where this info came from.

Good Luck
