Just bought a 50 hp motor for my 15 super sport project (thanks Dave). It will still be a while before the boat hits the water but I was wondering what size prop some of the members run on this combination? The boat is 15 the motor is early 80's 50HP(brown Stripe). |

I assume Mercury 50hp inline 4cyl. Brown stripe is 1984-1985. Biggest prop made is 17" and probably what I would try first. |

Wayne, Is this an OMC twin? If so I can give you my prop measurements off the sport. Also how about planning a get together on the GA coast. Jim Armstrong |

I have a 15-SPORT with a Mercury 50 HP inline 4 cylinder engine. You can see my boat's performance summarized in a table contained in an article I wrote about propellers: http://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/prop2.html The propeller is a 15-inch Black Max with cupped blades. |

Motor came with a 13 pitch prop. I have a while before launch of boat, so I thought I would be looking for props to borrow and test run when the time comes |

Hi Wayne, Most marine dealers will lone you trial props to check out before purchasing. Check with the guys you do business with in your area....If not look for a better dealer to take your business too. Mike |
