Hey guys,

My 1985 Johnson 150 HP has a bit of play in the steering. With the steering arm held firmly in place the engine can rotate back and forth a few degrees. I have never noticed this before and wonder if it is normal. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Todd Lynch

I have found this link to another forum that closely relates to my problem:

The engine can rotate without the steering arm moving at all, does this mean that the steering arm is loose and that I have to remove the powerhead to get to it?

Thanks,
Todd
