While crusing this past week I had a situation where the Alarm/Warning Buzzer in my Nissan control box was sounding. I was running a 70 HP nissan on a 17' NAusett, 4 people onboard. Had been running WOT through a deep channel of flat water for about 10-12 minutes this following a three quarter throttle @ 4,300 RPM for 12 miles or so after leaving port.

Noted the buzzing sound shortly befor reaching destination. Had good water flow out the teltale, oil tank was filled that morning and still had a good level. the buzzer sounded only when shifted into gear F or R not when in neutral. Don't have a temp guage on board, engine felt warm to touch but not hot. when we left destination two hours later problem was resolved. no more buzzing. RPM limiter did not engage, as was noted in manual for overheat situation or low oil level for injection system. I am turning a 17 pitch elephant ear aluminum prop, motor is rated 5250 -5650 max RPM. Was running at @5400 RPM trimmed flat when noise started.

any suggestions as what to look for in avoiding this in future is appreciated..
