Just for kicks, Ive got a combo that would be a neat little old shool whaler.
1970's Boston whaler 19' Revenge I/O ( old stlye hull)
Say a 200hp yanmar diesel
And to finish it off a Arneson surface drive hooked up to that diesel
I think this little boat would be extremely cool, with good range, fuel effiency, and speed. I know its definitly not the cheapest combo but somthing totally different.

Any comments?

I would do the lightest and most powerful Yanmar....say the 170hp?

For efficiency mate it to a bravo one drive, better offshore running as well.

Problem is you are looking at about $20+K for package alone.

Would a Bravo One handle the torque of a diesel? Maybe that's not an issue with that small of a motor. I don't know the torque output of that engine.
The big diesels make incredible torque; I like to watch big trucks jack up a corner of the suspension when pulling away from a light.
