Are the new 90/115 HP Opti's available with a CCW (left hand rotation) lower unit? A pair of these would be sweet on a 22' Outrage.

Information about Mercury Marine outboard motors is available on their website.

To the best of my knowledge, none of the manufacturers offer counter rotation with the 4 1/4" gearcases. Yamaha alone offers CR in the 115 Hp range because they use the "bigfoot" 4 3/4" V-6 gearcase on these engines. That is why they are heavier.

According to BW's testing on the Nantucket, the new Merc Opti 115 is somewhat disappointing in performance, having same top end as the 4-stroke. Take a look at the standard 2-stroke 115, quite a bit faster, and 25# lighter. A pair of these would still be pushing transom weight on a notched transom 22, but still would be a nice power option. A pair of 25" models on a 30" 22' Guardian transom would be ideal.
