I have a 1995 Outrage 19 powered by a 1996 Evinrude Ocean Pro 150. My aluminum 14.25 x 21 prop is slightly bent and needs replacing.I plan to install a Michigan Wheel SS Rapture 14.25 x 19 to replace the old wheel. Anyone have experience with a similar set up or recommend another solution ? Thanks in advance for your consideration.

You might even be able to spin a bigger diameter wheel. Those OMC 150s have plenty of twist. You might consider the Bombardier Viper 14-3/4" x 19". What brand of aluminum prop do you have now? |

gf, I have a raker on my montauk. Is this considered a "hotter" prop than the viper? |

I have both a Raker 20 and a Michigan Edge 22 I'll sell cheap. The Michigan is a raker copy. I ran them both on a Evinrude 150. They are both in very good condition. Have a aluminum 19" V-6 omc prop too. |

BW19 - The latest versions of the Michigan Wheel Rapture performance props are now using (under license) Mercury's interchangeable hub drive system, and this now sets them ahead of the similar Stilleto/Cabela's props. The interchangeable hub not only allows the prop to be used and sold for any brand engine, but also allows the owner to replace a bad hub sleeve at low cost. Both are a big plus, especially for re-sale. If you want a competitively priced after market 3 blade, this is the one to buy. However, I would seriously consider looking at Mercury's 4 bladed Offshore/Vensura for that particular boat. One of our boating friend has your identical boat powered by a Yamaha 150 (see Rendezvous section for photos), and this relatively heavy boat needs the lift, quick acceleration and holding this offshore prop offers. He recently installed one, and the difference in performance between his prior Yamaha teflon coated SS prop is amazing, with the hull now riding higher, faster and smoother. Assuming the Johnson 150 runs about the same as the Yamaha 150, and with similar gearing, I would highly recommend this $400 prop in the 17" pitch he uses. His engine is raised 1 1/2", and he uses the mdeium sized vent hole plugs. |

Hi Guys:Thanks for the responses. I have a SS Rapture 14.25 x 19 to test. I will report back on its performance when I can get out on the water. Its still cold in UpState NY...The boat is ready to go but the weather is still sketchy.

GF, why would he want more diameter ???? There's absolutly no need for more. A 14.25 with the right pitch will break his neck out of the hole. You only need more diameter when you go to a bigger boat, it does nothing for a 19 ft boat except pull the rpms down. Sal |

The Rapture 14.25 x 19 turns at 5100 RPMs WOT with the boat fully loaded. Seems like a good fit on my Outrage 19 with a Evinrude 150. |

George:You're right, a 14.25 x 17 SS prop is probably the best fit. |

A 14.25 x 17 S/S Stiletto is the right prop for that set-up. The 19p is to much on that rig. Sal |

I have the same boat but with a Yamaha 200. I am running 14.25x17.Tried a 14.25x21 but was not able to get past 5000 rpm. The 19" pitch may be OK but with passengers and a load the 17" is perfect. |

lpaton:You have a Yamaha 200 on a 19' Outrage and you can only turn a 14.25 X 17 wheel? That doesn't seem right. What brand of prop is that? I would think a Yamaha Saltwater Series 15.25 X 19 would be the ideal stainless prop for that combo. My McKee Craft 196 weighs the same as your boat and I am turning a Yamaha Saltwater Series 15.25 X 15 prop right up to 5500 RPM with my Yamaha 150 HPDI.

Would like to try a 19" pitch, have often felt it would be ideal but none handy. The 21" pitch is too much for my set up. Checked compression on my 200HP Saltwater series last year. It was OK. My 17" pitch prop is SS Yamaha |
