AKwalor	posted 05-27-2004 01:27 AM ET (US)         While shopping for an engine for my 1984 15-foot [Boston Whaler boat]. I noticed little difference in the weight between a Yamaha 90-HP and 70-HP. I bought the 90-HP. However, I was never able to find what the maximum transom weight is for a 1984 15-foot Whaler. New boats have a max transom weight of like 300 pounds. Is this the same or not? flyaway

However, the 15-foot hull is still made as the ALERT 15 where it carries a maximum engine weight rating of 264 pounds.
