While shopping for an engine for my 1984 15-foot [Boston Whaler boat]. I noticed little difference in the weight between a Yamaha 90-HP and 70-HP. I bought the 90-HP. However, I was never able to find what the maximum transom weight is for a 1984 15-foot Whaler. New boats have a max transom weight of like 300 pounds. Is this the same or not?

No specific maximum engine weights were published in 1984 by Boston Whaler for their boat hulls. However, the 15-foot hull is still made as the ALERT 15 where it carries a maximum engine weight rating of 264 pounds.
