I found a gem of a find in a 1990 Yamaha 50HP motor. This one has approx. 100 hours on it - mint. I thought about repowering my 13' Sport, but hate to drill new holes in the transom.

What would be a nice hull to purchase to match this motor to? I am not that familiar with the ride/performance of other hulls - so the combined expertise of the Whaler Forum participants is being called upon!

Many thanks. Tight lines.

My vote is the classic 15 hull in one of its various interior configurations. The maximum rating is 70hp, but these hulls get up and go just fine with 50 horses.

This may be worth considering. Step up 4 foot pretty cheap but it won't be a speed boat.

No doubt about it - classic 15'. It's a great boat and you'll get 34 or 35 mph with a 50 on it.
