I had an estimate of 4000 hours, here are the numbers:

1986 Outrage 25 with twin 2002115 Four stroke Mercurys.
Cruise 3500 RPM (26 MPH) about 2-3 hours a day
Troll 2100 RPM (9 MPH) about 6 hours a day
Engine oil change: Sinthetic every 100 hours
Transmission oil: mercury lube every 100 hours.
Dual water/fuel separator/filter.
Gas: Regular Unleaded
Wash with freshwater every time out.

I´ll appreciate any idea of what life can I expect out of these engines? (already have 380 hours on them)

Clark Roberts can answer this question much better than I can as he has personal experience with this specific engine. But the rule of thumb that I go by is that in general 1000 hours of a 4-stroke marine engine that is run sometimes at a reasonable crusing RPM and sometimes at trolling speed and sometimes at idle speed (but rarely at WOT) is the equivalent of an automobile engine that has 45,000 miles on the odometer. So 4000 hours on a marine engine used as described above would be similar to an automobile engine with 180,000 miles on it.

Since I own three automobiles that each have more than 180,000 miles on them, I would like to believe that a well-maintained 4-stroke marine engine could exceed 4000 hours without needing to be re-built.

The usual death of a outboard is due to corrosion rather than wear. But, if you really use the engine every day, it probably will be wear.
