I have a 1987 60 hp VRO Evinrude that I plan on replacing (on a '87 Super Sport 15). It's seen better days; a hard starter, leaves an oil slick, etc, etc. Just looking for opinions on a good replacement. I'm thinking 4 stroke, not married to any particular brand, possibly stepping down a bit on the HP to a 50..., but would like enough power to pull an adult in a tube. Thanks in advance for your opinions !

Have had them with 50 & 70 HP Johnson/Evinrude. Was much happier w/50 and could run long miles, not spook fish, etc. However you will wear out a 50 nailing-it to pull people. All depends on what you intend to do with this most handy size Whaler. |
