Does anyone know if I can use the Honda dual binnacle controls for a 2001 Yamaha 9.9hp 4 stroke? The control cables are the same as Honda and I'm hoping to jumper the key wires from the yamaha wiring harness to the dual key switch of the honda key switch panel ( on/off, choke?,). I dont need the tach, etc for the kicker.
The dealer is ordering this today with (my) assumption that it will be workable.
I was wondering if on the throttle and shift controls, the honda binnacle would give the 'right' motions needed on the yamaha engine ( shift then accelerate with just the right amount of motion.?

Apparently the double binnacle honda control may work with the yamaha 4 stroke kicker controls. The thing that has yet to be demonstrated is if the mechanical travel of the cables is the same for my honda bf150 and the yamaha 9.9hp (ie. the amount of travel of the shifting control and the throttle control).

I did come across a paper copy of the wiring color codes used by honda, yamaha, suzuki, and mercury for 2004 in their control wires. I can email an efax copy of that to anyone interested or, if JimH suggests, post in some reference area.
