Author	Topic:   Mercury 250 hp EFI single on a 26 outrage
fadams	posted 10-01-2005 06:49 PM ET (US)         I am considering buying a 1998 26 outrage with a single 1998 mercury 250 hp bluewater EFI. Is anyone aware of performance with this setup? How will fuel consumption be for an "EFI" compared to the newer "DFI"? Frank
BW23	posted 10-02-2005 12:25 AM ET (US)             A single 250 on that hull is very,very,very underpowered. I has nothing to do with EFI versus DFI. That hull needs at least twin 150's....better yet...twin 200's. Don't buy it......if you do..you won't be happy and can't re-sell it !!!! Shop around!!
Peter	posted 10-02-2005 09:00 AM ET (US)             Not only is it very, very, very underpowered, but its also underpropped with a single outboard. Underpropped in this case means that the propeller of the single outboard won't have enough blade surface area to properly carry the heavy load.
