Mercury has introduced a new gov/commercial version of the 3.0 liter 200 Optimax that runs on JP5, JP8 or Jet fuel. It has "stealth" graphics and is listed at 185 HP. |

Apparently the military market is large enough to make development of these alternative fuel engines profitable. Evinrude has a similar line of engines which have been adapted to run on jet fuel. Carrying gasoline aboard military vessels is no longer considered a good idea. |

Its nice of Mercury to copy an Evinrude innovation after it was introduced couple years ago. Whats next, a blue paint job with a Chinese flag across the cowl? |
