Mercury has introduced a new gov/commercial version of the 3.0 liter 200 Optimax that runs on JP5, JP8 or Jet fuel. It has "stealth" graphics and is listed at 185 HP.

Apparently the military market is large enough to make development of these alternative fuel engines profitable. Evinrude has a similar line of engines which have been adapted to run on jet fuel. Carrying gasoline aboard military vessels is no longer considered a good idea.

Its nice of Mercury to copy an Evinrude innovation after it was introduced couple years ago. Whats next, a blue paint job with a Chinese flag across the cowl?

Two out of three Evinrude stalkers is pretty good. Now all we need is Fourdfish. Fourdy, are you out there?

You called! Here I am Larry, but why comment on an obvious
attempt to copy and cash in on the coattails of a competitor 2 yrs later.
